Davis joined SARC in 2004 to pursue a PhD in Sonic Arts. His practice and theory based research centres on issues of Embodiment, Ecology and Complexity in Sound Installation.
Before taking up a place at the Sonic Arts Research Centre, Davis received an MA in Communication Media from the University of the West of England and a BSc in Physics with Music from the University of Edinburgh.

Previous incarnations have also included Davis moonlighting as a Rock Star, Grouse Beater, Housing Officer, Sheep Farmer, Television presenter, Physicist, Sound Designer, Artist, Waiter, Musician, Delivery Driver, and Radio DJ.
